Lea Kauffmann de Vries is a Regional Program Officer for Francophone Sub-Saharan Africa, Middle East and Northern Africa for the NDC Partnership Support Unit. Her responsibilities include supporting the regional team in the oversight of country-related work as well as analyzing and managing regional information. Lea is based in the Bonn office of the Partnership at the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) secretariat.

Prior to joining the Support Unit, Lea completed a Blue Book Traineeship at the Adaptation Unit of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Climate Action, where she supported work on the EU Action Plan on Sustainable Finance. She also provided research assistance for a project on mobilization of private climate finance for NDC implementation in Sub-Saharan Africa at the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI).

Lea holds a BSc in Economics and Business Economics from the Erasmus University Rotterdam and a Double-MSc in Economic Development and Growth from Universidad Carlos III Madrid and Lund University. She is fluent in German, Dutch, French, English and speaks Spanish.
