Kat is a Project Specialist, Restoration Finance for the Global Restoration Initiative. She supports two portfolios: TerraFund, a program that finances small enterprises and community non-profit organizations to restore land in Africa, Latin America, and South Asia and the Priceless Planet Coalition, a corporate-funded campaign to grow 100 million trees.

Prior to joining WRI, Kat developed and managed several grant programs at the National Park Foundation in collaboration with community-based organizations and the US National Park Service. Before that she supported the Elephants and Bees Project in Kenya, working with rural farmers to collect and manage beehive occupancy and elephant raid metrics on dozens of farms in human-wildlife conflict areas. Kat began her career leading natural resource monitoring projects in Sierra National Forest, Devils Postpile National Monument, and Yosemite National Park.

Kat holds a B.A. in Environmental Studies and Spanish from Middlebury College in Vermont.

When she's not backpacking in Latin America, Kat is based out of Washington DC where she enjoys going for long bike rides in Rock Creek Park.
