Júlio de Araújo-Alves

Júlio is a Research Analyst on the Forests, Land Use, and Agriculture team at WRI Brasil. His work focuses on analyzing spatial phenomena related to landscape and forest restoration, with an emphasis on social and territorial data. He also works on engaging territorial actors in the development and implementation of projects.
Júlio graduated as a geographer from the Institute of Geosciences and Exact Sciences at São Paulo State University (UNESP). Prior to joining WRI Brasil, he was a researcher at the Ecosystem Dynamics Observatory (IGCE/UNESP) and worked as a mobile mapping operator, collecting spatial data throughout Brazil and Argentina.
In his free time, Júlio enjoys digging for old music, playing Civilization VI, and reading comics.
