José is a Development Analyst at WRI Mexico and the global team at the WRI Ross Center for Sustainable Cities, he is responsible for monitoring, updating and increasing the portfolio of funding opportunities and sales indicators. He also provides support in coordinating proposals submitted by the organization's programs (Climate, Energy, Urban Development, Mobility and Forests) and maintains a strategic relationship with bilateral and multilateral cooperation agencies.

His professional experience includes several positions within the environmental sector in organizations such as ICLEI-Local Governments for Sustainability, the Environmental Directorate of Tlalnepantla, the German Cooperation for Sustainable Development (GIZ) and the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) of the United Nations, promoting projects of mitigation-adaptation to climate change, green finance, capacity building at the sub-national level and promotion of the Sustainable Development Goals.

José is an internationalist, graduated with honors from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM); Diploma in Renewable Energies from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) and Circular Economics from the Wageningen University & Research (WUR); and specialties in Climate Action from the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (FLACSO) in Argentina, and Environmental and Ecological Economics from the UNAM.
