Johan Nyqvist is the Insurance Project Specialist for World Resources Institute's Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi).

Prior to joining SBTi, Johan worked as a Project Analyst for the United Nations Capital Development Fund’s (UNCDF) Pacific Digital Economy Programme (PDEP) in Fiji, supporting the development of inclusive digital economies across the Pacific. Before that, Johan was the Climate Risk Insurance Associate for UNCDF’s Pacific Insurance and Climate Adaptation Programme (PICAP) in Fiji, piloting innovative and inclusive Climate Disaster Risk Financing and Insurance instruments in the Pacific with a particular focus on parametric microinsurance.

Johan holds an MSc. in business and economics with a major in economics from Jönköping University. Johan is also a certified expert in climate adaptation finance and sustainable finance from the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. In his spare time, Johan likes to play football and guitar, spend time with friends, and learn languages.
