JJ Dearborn is the Project Manager for Resource Watch, an open data platform that makes climate change, human health, air quality, energy, and water data freely accessible to all.  As a long-time free-culture movement advocate, she has over a decade of experience working on collaborative open-access initiatives.

Prior to joining WRI, she served as a Project Manager and/or Data Librarian for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the City of Boston, Harvard University Department of Organismic and Evolutionary Biology, and the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History. Caring deeply about our imperiled environment led to the founding of The Makers Guild, Inc., an award-winning design + build firm founded in 2017 with her husband. Together, they have turned their passion into action by focusing on sustainable design solutions within a historical context.

She holds a Master of Science in Library and Information Science from Simmons College, Boston, and a Bachelors in History from the University of California, Los Angeles.

JJ was born in San Francisco, raised in Silicon Valley, and spent summers on the Big Island of Hawaii. She currently lives in Salem, Massachusetts with her husband Lee, son Vincent, and their two dogs, Rusty and Lola.
