Jefferson is a Senior Geoprocessing Specialist in the Forest Program at WRI Brazil. His work focuses on providing answers and solutions for restoring forests and landscapes and forests using spatial analysis and data visualization techniques. He is a Geographer from the Federal University of Santa Maria and has a Ph.D. in Geography from São Paulo State University (UNESP-Rio Claro).

Before joining WRI Brasil, Jefferson was Senior Researcher and leader of the Research Group on Geospatial Analysis of Amazonian Environment and Territories at Mamirauá Institute for Sustainable Development.

During his free time, Jefferson likes to study languages and programming, as well as explore landscapes he's never been to, movies no one watches, and listen to metal songs.
