Janna Chapman
Global Forest Watch Research Intern

Janna Chapman is a Global Forest Watch Intern in the Forests department. She works on training data collection for Global Forest Watch's new drivers of deforestation project that aims to categorize the causes of global tree cover loss via deep learning.
Janna is a junior pursuing Bachelor's degrees in Environmental Science and Technology and Geographical Sciences at the University of Maryland, College Park. After graduation she hopes to enter a career in environmental data science, specifically exploring climate patterns and natural resource use.
In her free time, Janna likes to hike, garden and read comic books.
