Ivana Valdez is the Regional Program Officer for Latin America and the Caribbean at the NDC Partnership Support Unit. She supports the regional team in engaging countries with NDC enhancement and implementation, mainly by managing knowledge and information and producing outputs that feed into country and partner exchanges. She also contributes to strategic work around Monitoring and Evaluation and Adaptation.

Prior to joining the NDC Partnership, Ivana spent her academic years conducting scientific research, developing and implementing sustainability initiatives, and educating others on the urgency of climate change.

She holds a BSc in Environmental Science from the University of Texas at Austin and intends to pursue a MSc in climate-related migration.

Originally from the border town of El Paso, TX, Ivana cares deeply about engaging Latinos with climate action. She works avidly with WRI’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiative to raise awareness on social, racial, and economic equity challenges.
