Deepak Tewari
Research Fellow, Energy, WRI India

Deepak Tewari is a Research Fellow in the Energy Program at World Resources Institute, India, where he works on fast-tracking the transition to clean energy in cities to achieve India’s ambitious climate targets. He manages research on technology solutions, business models, and policy approaches to scale up the adoption of energy efficiency and clean energy strategies.
Prior to joining WRI, he has worked with Alliance for an Energy-Efficient Economy (AEEE), PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), and The Energy and Resource Institute (TERI) in various capacities. In addition, he has led several programs on the decarbonization of the built environment and industry, including research on low carbon building materials, standard & labeling framework, energy audits & benchmarking, environmental rating programs, and building codes, among others.
Deepak holds a master’s degree in Energy Engineering from Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur, and a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the College of Engineering Roorkee. He is a certified energy auditor from the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE).
