Connie Williams is the Communications Assistant for the Sustainable Ocean Initiative. She works to address global environment, sustainability, economic & human well-being issues by developing communications strategies to support the High Level Panel. She also supports media research and outreach as well as utilizing WRI's media database to ensure the most effective functioning of the Ocean team.

Prior to joining WRI, Connie worked as a medical reporter in the first English language medical journal in South Korea. She was on the writing, editorial and social media teams that covered national health news such as schizophrenia awareness and innovations on plastic surgery. She has also done the research and reported on North Korea's failing healthcare system.

She holds a B.A. in English Literature and a Level 4 TOPIK certification of the Korean language from Ewha Womans University in Seoul, South Korea. She also holds an M.A. in International Journalism from Cardiff University in Cardiff, Wales.

She is an avid bookworm and explorer, who loves to watch dogs gallop blissfully in parks. Her other passions include hiking and appreciating the artwork of animation.
