Burhan is Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis at WRI. Working on financial modeling and decision making, he provides support to WRI staff on forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and financial analysis and insights. He works closely with the Global Finance Director and Senior Finance Manager in the Institute-wide quarterly financial and strategic review process, and provides financial analysis as well as strategic and operational insights to help inform WRI’s board, executive team, and management team. Burhan also drives efforts with Programs, Centers, International Offices, and Core Operations to find solutions to complex Institute wide issues, and leads the identification and implementation of effective processes and strategy solutions.

Previously at WRI, Burhan headed Operations for the Governance & Business Centers at WRI. He oversaw grant and budget management, ensured donor compliance, and facilitated outreach efforts to funders. His duties included formulating and implementing operational policies, providing strategic support to the Center's Directors, and acting as liaison with other programs, centers, and departments. Prior to that, Burhan was a Grants and Finance Coordinator in the Global Climate Program.

Before starting at WRI, Burhan worked with the Rural Support Programmes Network (RSPN) in Pakistan for three years where he assisted in designing and implementing governance, disaster-risk management, and capacity building projects focused on rural development in Pakistan.

Burhan holds a B.A in Economics from the University of Michigan, and a M.A in Sustainable International Development from the Heller School at Brandeis University. He enjoys watching cricket and football, and supports Arsenal football club. He lives in Arlington, VA.
