Azam Hawari is the Legal Analyst for One Map Initiative. He works in conducting research and analysis of legal and regulatory framework on land use, land-based licenses, and conflict resolution related to land use. He also provides support on internal and external corporate legal matters for WRI Indonesia.

Prior to his current position, Azam was a consultant after he had completed internship for several months at WRI Indonesia. He graduated from Universitas Indonesia majoring environmental law. His thesis focused on WTO ruling consistency toward environmental-trade measure on the EU’s RED II palm oil policy. He is also an awardee of Erasmus+ scholarship for student exchange program to Mykolas Romeris University, Lithuania. During his undergraduate, he was active joining various organizations and competitions, such as served as chairman of student association and won Write to China 2018 essay competition. Besides, he also had internship at a law firm and several NGOs.

During his spare time, he loves doing sports, reading books, and tasting local cuisines.
