Anjana Rajagopalan
Manager - Climate Resilience Practice, WRI India

Dr. Anjana Rajagopalan serves as the Manager within the Climate Resilience Practice program at WRI India. She is based in Chennai. Her work primarily revolves around strategies for building climate resilience, climate budgeting, and grassroots-level sustainable development.
Anjana’s career spans diverse domains, reflecting her commitment to multi-faceted development approaches. She has engaged in various areas, including Public Finance, Labour and Skill Development, Urbanization and Migration, and Environment and Health Economics. Her professional journey includes roles at institutions such as the NITI Aayog, University of Cologne, Centre for Budget and Governance Accountability (CBGA), and the Janaagraha Centre for Citizenship and Democracy.
Educationally, Anjana holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics (with honors) from Delhi University. She pursued her Master’s in Economics with a specialization in Environmental and Resource Economics at TERI SAS, New Delhi. Her MPhil research centered around Urbanization, and she later completed her Ph.D. in Development and Labour Economics from Jawaharlal Nehru University.
In her leisure time, Anjana enjoys reading, baking, and listening to classical music.
