Angel Cibemba
Central and West Africa Communications Coordinator III

Angel is the Central and West Africa Communications Coordinator III for forest program and promotes the program’s activities in the region, particularly in DRC, Republic of Congo, Cameroon, Gabon and Niger.
Her role is to lead the development of communication strategies and products, promote the adoption of information platforms including the Forest Atlas. She builds relationships with the media, journalists and other strategic communications partners in the region. She also supports program management to represent WRI forestry program with the government, NGOs and civil society partners in the region.
Prior to serving as Central and West Africa Communications Coordinator III, Angel worked in WRI’s Forest Program as West and Central Africa communications specialist. She also worked as communications Coordinator for the SCAEMPS project to promote SCAEMPS activities in both Congos (Congo Kinshasa and Congo Brazzaville).
Prior to joining WRI, Angel worked as a Technical Expert for Communications for the German Technical Cooperation (GIZ) in the Biodiversity and Forest Program. She has also worked as a reporter for several Congolese television channels.
Angel obtained her bachelor’s degree in communication from the Institut Facultaire des Sciences de l’Information et de la Communication in Kinshasa-DRC.
In her spare time, Angel loves traveling, reading and music.
