Andrea De La Puente is a Grants and Finance Specialist. She leads the grant and financial management for all Science Based Targets initiative projects within WRI.

Before joining WRI, Andrea worked in the Department of Public Health, Los Angeles. She managed CDC federal grants to tackle COVID-19 emerging needs. Andrea has also worked at the University of Southern California, Kaiser Permanente, Ernst & Young, and Wells Fargo Bank. She is thrilled to contribute her personal and professional skills to WRI to continue healing the planet.

Andrea holds a B.S in Business Administration from the University of Southern California. She graduated with honors and received several scholarships to complete her career. Andrea spent a semester abroad studying in Bangkok, Thailand, and traveling to other countries in South East Asia (Indonesia, Laos, and Singapore). During her traveling experiences, she experienced in first hand climate change issues happening in the world. These experiences motived her to work on climate change.

Andrea lives in Los Angeles, California with her husband, George, daughter, Sofia, and dog, Milky. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, hiking, cooking, swimming, taking zumba classes, and practicing yoga.
