Agiel is a Research Analyst for peatland restoration project at WRI Indonesia. He will assist to manage and implement investigation portfolio for Peatland Restoration Independent Monitoring include facilitating the development of the virtual content of the independent monitoring platform.

Prior joining WRI Indonesia, Agiel was a former staff of GIZ Indonesia for Climate Change project: EU-Support to Indonesia’s Climate Change Response. This project supported the activity of Directorate General of Climate Change, Ministry of Environment and Forestry and Aceh Environmental and Forestry Service as agreed on Project’s Annual Work Plan. He was also a project assistant for Forest Investment Program (FIP) 2 project led by Directorate General of Forestry Planning and Environmental Governance, Ministry of Environment and Forestry.

During his undergraduate, he was a part of Indonesian’s youth delegate to ASEAN Water Dialogue Conference at Bangkok, Thailand and the nineteenth session of UN Climate Change Conference of The Parties (COP 19) at Warsaw, Poland. He also selected to present Pecha Kucha oral presentation in Faculty of Forestry, University of British Columbia during forestry students’ symposium at British Columbia, Canada.

Agiel earned Bachelor degree of Forestry from Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Gadjah Mada. During his leisure time, he likes swimming and travelling. He is also a food enthusiast who enjoy exploring local food.
