Abhinav Sharma is a Manager with the Energy Program at World Resources Institute, India, where he focuses on strengthening India's clean energy transition efforts, primarily through the lens of institutions, political economy, and governance. Abhinav's research journey and career trajectory have been closely intertwined with the energy sector. His research interests revolve around developing a sociological and anthropological understanding of bureaucracy, public institutions, and the political economy of energy infrastructures, with a particular focus on the entanglements of state, technology, and the public.

Before joining WRI, Abhinav worked with the Initiative on Climate Energy and Environment at the Centre for Policy Research (CPR) and Tata Power in their corporate regulatory function. Abhinav earned a Ph.D. and M.Phil. (Planning & Development) from the Indian Institute of Technology-Bombay, and he graduated in electrical engineering from Government Engineering College, Jabalpur.

Abhinav enjoys cooking, quizzing, and reading Hindi literature and history.
