Workshop: Brazilian Initiatives for COP-21: Options for Mitigation, Adaptation, and INDCs
On May 26th, 2015, the World Resources Institute’s Open Climate Network (OCN) hosted a workshop in partnership with the Brazilian Forum on Climate Change (FBMC). The workshop was designed to support the development of Brazil’s contribution to the global climate agreement, known as its Intended Nationally Determined Contribution (INDC).
The event, held at Brazil’s Presidential Palace on the eve of the UNFCCC intercessional meeting in Bonn, Germany, proposed a comprehensive set of priorities for the INDC which encourage decarbonization and accelerated low-carbon economic growth. The workshop served as an assembly point for a variety of stakeholder efforts that are already working to help Brazil develop its INDC.
The gathering served to catalyze momentum and encourage Brazil to put forward a robust and effective proposed climate contribution, a key step in the development of the global agreement. The key findings of the workshop are available to stakeholders in the government, academia, and civil society.
