First Annual "State of Global Forests" Event
Global Forest Watch hosted an event offering new insight to forest change around the world. This year focused on the release of analysis of global tree cover loss for 2013, produced by Global Forest Watch partners at the University of Maryland and Google.
Leading scientist Matt Hansen shared new data, Nigel Sizer previewed emerging trends in global forest change and forest monitoring, and top land use experts discussed the findings. Receptions before and after the presentations gave participants a chance to discuss the new 2013 global analysis with those involved in producing the data and using it in on the ground.
