Engagement and Partnerships
One of the goals of WRI’s sustainability work is to “lead and learn by doing” – where our internal sustainability work not only helps to reduce WRI’s footprint, but also helps us scale impacts by sharing what we learn and collaborating with others.
GLOBAL STAFF ENGAGEMENT
Sustainability Champions The Sustainability Champions are a group of staff from various programs in WRI that meet routinely and engage on sustainability issues. Their role is to help brainstorm or provide feedback on Sustainability Initiative projects and proposals, pass along any feedback from coworkers, and champion the initiative within their own program.
Sustainability Managers Round Table
The Sustainability Managers Round Table (SMRT) is a network of sustainability managers and related staff from non-profits and development banks. Started in 2012, SMRT hosts regular webinars to share knowledge on issues related to sustainable operations and management for NGOs.
SMRT is currently partnering with students from the Sustainability Management program at Columbia University to determine approaches for benchmarking key performance indicators among NGOs.
You can request to join SMRT by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org; however, we ask that requests are limited to NGO staff members that work or volunteer on operational sustainability efforts.
