The Center for Sustainable Transit in Brazil is working to improve urban transport

EMBARQ’s support to the cities of Brazil is starting with the set up of the Center for Sustainable Transport of Brazil (CTS-Brazil), a not-for-profit, non-governmental organization based in Porto Alegre.

The mission of CTS-Brazil is to facilitate and implement sustainable transport solutions – taking into account the economic, social, and environmental factors – in order to improve the mobility and quality of life in Brazilian cities.

EMBARQ and CTS-Brazil will be supporting the City of Porto Alegre with their transportation objectives, which include the implementation of a Bus Rapid Transit system (BRT), switch towards cleaner fuels and technology, and promoting the use of non-motorized modes of transport.
