As part of a collaborative effort between the Inter-American Development Bank’s Environment Division and the World Resources Institute, this document discusses environmental mainstreaming considerations in the context of the four pillars of the Bank’s Institutional Strategy:

  • Social Development
  • Competitiveness, and
  • Regional Integration

The purpose of the document is to set forth ideas and recommendations that will help identify mainstreaming opportunities to strengthen environmental sustainability across sectors, which in turn should enhance development outcomes.
