Partnerships and supporters

World Resources 2000-2001 is the result of a unique partnership among the United Nations Environment Programme, United Nations Development Programme, the World Bank, and WRI. It is the only instance where UN agencies, a multilateral financial institution, and an NGO work together in a true partnership to determine the content, conclusions, and recommendations of a major report. World Resources 2000-2001 is the 9th edition of this partnership. The views expressed in this volume are those of staff from each organization and do not necessarily reflect the judgments of the organizations’ boards of directors or member governments. On-going support for World Resources 2000-2001 is provided by the United Nations Environment Programme, the United Nations Development Programme, the World Bank, and the World Resources Institute. In addition, some funding provided to the World Resources Institute by the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs helped support World Resources 2000-2001. For this millennial edition, we give special acknowledgement to the generous support of the UN Foundation in improving the presentation and dissemination of the report and to the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs in increasing international collaboration on the report. We are also grateful to the following institutions (in alphabetical order) that have supported the Pilot Analysis of Global Ecosystems and the international effort to establish a Millennium Ecosystem Assessment. An important part of World Resources 2000-2001 mission is to disseminate the findings of the PAGE and put forward the rationale for the Millennium Ecosystem Assessment.
We especially wish to thank our principal partners
