Socially responsible investors used a prize-winning WRI research report, Pure Profit, as the basis for shareholder resolutions seeking information on environmental performance from major U.S. pulp and paper companies. A major European bank also worked with WRI staff to develop an environmentally friendly lending policy, beginning with their forest industry portfolio.
