The Many Measures of Poverty
Well-being can be measured using indicators other than income poverty. Three maps of Africa show country-by-country variations in the three indicators used by the United Nations Development Programme to annually measure human development: adult literacy, live expectancy at birth, and gross domestic product per capita.
