- Mining_ave_max_evaporation.zip. Global Average Maximum Evaporation 1979 -1999 (20 year average). This data set was used within the Mining and Critical Ecosystems project as an input within the Mositure Availability Index (Weinert).
- Mining_average_max_precip.zip. Global Average Maximum Precipitation 1979 -1999 (20 year average). This data set was used within the Mining and Critical Ecosystems project as an input within the Mositure Availability Index (Weinert).
- Mining_intact_hgh_cons_value_areas.zip. Intact High Conservation Value Areas. The purpose of this dataset is to show areas with high conservation value as defined by the combination of Conservation International’s biodiversity hotspots, Endemic bird Areas, Frontier Forests, and Global Ecoregion 200 areas that fall within the WCS/Ciesin Human Footprint’s top 10 % of areas with the least human influence.
- Mining_enabling_capacity.zip. Global capacity for informed decision-making(Mining in Socially Vulnerable Areas). The purpose of this dataset is to show the enabling social capacity of countries around the world. Socially vulnerable areas are those where the capacity for informed decision-making(the ability of a community to advocate in its own best interests) is low. This indicator is a function of adult literacy, functional literacy, and income.
- Mining_governance.zip. Governance (control of Corruption, Voice and Accountability, etc.). The purpose of this dataset is to show the varying indicators of measures of governance of countries around the world. These categories reflect voice and accountability, control of corruption, rule of law, government, and political.
- Mining_mineral_dependent_economies.zip. Mineral dependent Economies. The purpose of this dataset is to show countries with mineral and oil dependencies.
- Mining_moisture_availability.zip. Global Moisture Availability Index (Weinert). The purpose of this dataset is to show global potential physical weathering or moisture availability values for the world.
- Mining_PNG_act_mines_exp_mineral_concess.zip. Papua New Guinea Active Mines and Exploratory Mineral Concessions (2003 update). This data for Papua New Guinea was used as part of a national-scale analysis modeled for the Global Mining and Critical Ecosystem project and replicated at a finer, higher resolution scale at the national level.
