Biodiversity
  • Encourage by 2010 the appliation of the ecosystem approach (Paragraph 30)
  • Establish representative marine protected area networks by 2012 (Paragraph 32)
  • Achieve by 2010 a significant reduction in the current rate of loss of biodiversity (Paragraph 44)
Fisheries
  • Maintain or restore fish stocks to a level that can produce a sustainable yield by 2015 (Paragraph 31)
Water
  • Develop integrated water resources management and water efficiency plans by 2005 (Paragraph 26)
Chemical Pollution
  • By 2020, minimize significant adverse effects on human health and the environment associated with the production and use of toxic chemicals, via use of transparent, science-based risk assessment and risk management procedures, and taking account of the precautionary principle (Paragraph 23)
