The Two Degrees of Innovation project works with researchers, engineers, policymakers and other practitioners to create the conditions for global innovation in clean energy, from research to deployment.
Innovations in the global power sector need to emerge and spread quickly to drive down cost and improve performance to the point that low-carbon development becomes the default choice everywhere in the world. Today, the available low-carbon energy solutions - renewable energy such as wind and solar, energy efficiency and other clean technologies - are often too costly to meet the dual challenges of climate change and economic development.
WRI’s Two Degrees of Innovation project works with practitioners to build a robust global innovation system to catalyze rapid and continuous improvements in the price and performance of low-carbon power sector technologies through innovation beyond the lab.
