About Vivek

Vivek is an Associate – Urban Development and Accessibility at EMBARQ India. The focus of his work includes projects that deal with improving pedestrian accessibility, developing high quality walking environments within critical urban areas, and developing master plans and structure-plans using transit-oriented development. He is based in Bangalore where his primary focus is to work with the Directorate of Urban Land Transport, Government of Karnataka, to help develop urban development and accessibility strategies around public transport nodes.

He has contributed to the Indira Nagar Metro Station Accessibility Project for the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation, and is currently working on developing accessibility and transit-oriented development strategies along the BRT Corridor in the twin cities of Hubli – Dharwad, Karnataka.

Prior to joining EMBARQ, he was a working member of the ABIDe Heritage Team that worked on a Research Project of the Bangalore Fort Precinct, with the intention of informing the Government of Karnataka on setting up the Bangalore Heritage Commission. He then worked as a group leader with CEPT University, on a Heritage Settlement Study at Bidar, working on the research and documentation of the Fort of Bidar. As a student, he is a two time national champion of Archumen, an all India level intercollegiate quiz on architecture.

Vivek is pursuing his Bachelors in Architecture from BMS College of Engineering, Bangalore.
