Mr. Adam provides cartographic/GIS and computer programming support for numerous projects throughout the Institute.

Stephen Adam is a GIS Research Analyst for WRI's People and Ecosystems Program.

Stephen started at WRI working as a programmer for EarthTrends: The Environmental Information Portal. He later transitioned to mapping work in the Caribbean and Meso-America with the Reefs at Risk Project with the People and Ecosystems Program.

Stephen is now working primarily in Africa and Central Asia conducting poverty and ecosystem mapping, and government spending mapping for Funnel the Money. Stephen is concurrently providing mapping support for WRI's projects in Central Africa, South America, and Southeast Asia.

Prior to joining WRI, Stephen worked for seven years as a computer programmer. He also brings with him an academic background in cartography and GIS from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
