About Soniann Oliver
Soniann is from Ponce, Puerto Rico and joined the EMBARQ team as Program Coordinator I in July 2008. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Loyola University New Orleans and a medical degree from Ponce School of Medicine in Puerto Rico. Prior to EMBARQ, Soniann worked as a molecular genetics research associate with Ponce School of Medicine. Later on, she moved to D.C. and pursued work in other fields of interest such as international relations and business administration. While working with Patri, Inc., a Brazilian Government Relations Company, Soniann not only learned some Portuguese, but was responsible for media and government affairs monitoring, coordinating educational outreach programs and managing the company’s administrative operations. She also gained international relations and accounting skills while working with the Center for International Policy’s Central America team. Her hobbies are translating and learning Portuguese and Italian.
