About Shriya
Shriya is an Associate – Research & Practice at EMBARQ India. Based in Mumbai, she provides research and analytical support across projects in the domain of sustainable transport.
Shriya is currently working on a research project to study the applicability of car-sharing systems in developing countries, and is part of the studies to measure the public health impact of bus rapid transit system in Indore.
Shriya trained as a journalist and has over three years experience in participating in various development debates as a journalist. She interacted with multiple stakeholders to the development process including public, private players and policymakers working with major publications. During this period she was awarded the Polestar Award for Business Journalism.
Shriya has been formally trained as a development economist and a journalist. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Statistics from University of Mumbai and a postgraduate diploma in journalism (with distinction) from the Asian College of Journalism, Chennai. She has recently completed her Master’s degree (with distinction) in Development Economics from School of Oriental & African Studies, University of London on a Felix scholarship.
