Sheri Willoughby is a senior associate in the Markets & Enterprise Program where she manages the Accelerating Clean Energy Markets (ACEM) project in India, which supports renewable energy business in underserved communities.
Her work in India to date includes analyzing business models of entrepreneurial clean energy ventures and identifying barriers to scale.
Sheri also directs the Business Environment Learning Leadership (BELL) project, which provides tools for training business leaders to integrate environmental and social trends into business decisions. This work involves advising corporations on their sustainability strategies and collaborating with BELL networks in the US, China, Mexico and Brazil. Sheri comes to WRI after working with numerous organizations seeking to address global sustainability challenges such as poverty, access to credit, and environmental degradation through private enterprise and public-private partnerships.
Sheri earned an MBA from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and an MS in chemistry from University of California San Diego. Prior to business school, Sheri worked as an atmospheric chemist at ENSCO, Inc. in Florida and as a management consultant at Accenture in San Francisco.
