About Sarah

Sarah Lupberger is the Project Coordinator for the Electricity Governance Initiative (EGI) and the Governance of Forests Initiative (GFI). She manages the project’s grants, contracts, finances, communications, and outreach. She also assists with research and writing for GFI.

Before joining EGI and GFI, Sarah did research on land tenure law for the Equity, Poverty and the Environment Project and on environmentally-caused supply chain disruptions for the Green Supply Chain Project. She has also worked on indigenous forestry issues at the Rights and Resources Initiative as well as on community development in Uttarakhand, India.

Sarah holds a B.A. in International Studies from the University of Chicago. Her honors research investigated the role of biodiversity conservation in the Maya Itza cultural revival in Peten, Guatemala.

Sarah is an avid ultimate frisbee and volleyball player. Outside of sports, she enjoys traveling, playing the flute, and cooking.
