About Samah
Samah is a research analyst working on Measurement and Performance Tracking (MAPT) in developing countries. The MAPT project builds capacity in designing and implementing in-country measurement, reporting and verification programs to meet domestic climate, energy and development goals. Prior to joining the MAPT team, Samah worked on EarthTrends, WRI’s environmental information portal. She has also contributed a chapter to UNEP’s Africa Water Atlas.

Before coming to WRI, Samah was employed as a facilitator on a British Council-WBI project which developed the capacity of civil society and youth organizations in the UK and Africa to create sustainable development and poverty reduction initiatives. In addition, she spent a year at London Remade, an urban sustainability consultancy. She has also completed an internship in Khartoum with the Climate Change Group at the Higher Council for Environment and Natural Resources- the technical arm of Sudan’s Ministry of Environment.
Samah has a BSc in Physics from Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine in London and a MSc in Environment and Development from the University of Reading, where she specialized in renewable energy engineering including the design and siting of solar, micro-hydro, wind and biogas systems.
