About Raquel

Raquel works closely with the International Climate Initiative and the Major Emerging Economies Initiative in WRI’s Climate and Energy Program. As the international initiatives coordinator, she supports the program on a variety of activities, including administrative & logistical support, events coordination, and database & financial management. She is also the United Nations Climate Change Conference focal point for WRI and organizes the institute’s presence in all related conferences.

Prior to WRI, Raquel was a program associate at Men’s Health Network, a small non-profit focused on the health of men and their families. She also interned at Fundacion PROhumana in Santiago, Chile focusing on corporate social responsibility and at Elektro Eletricidade e Servicos in Campinas, Brazil focusing on communications.

Raquel is half Brazilian, half Cuban and was born and raised in Brazil. She attended the University of Miami where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Psychology and a minor in Foreign Languages. While at the University of Miami, she participated in summer abroad programs in Santiago, Chile and Santander, Spain. Raquel speaks Portuguese and Spanish.
