About Logan Yonavjak
Logan Yonavjak joined WRI in January 2009 to work on the Southern Forests for the Future project.
The first aim of this project is to communicate the drivers and impacts of southern forest loss in the Southeastern United States in the coming decades. A website will be launched in early 2010 which will showcase time series maps that visually display the changes in land use over time. In addition, a publication will be printed that also discusses the trends in southern forest loss and drivers of change.
The second phase of the project is focused on researching and pilot testing innovative economic incentives to maintain forest cover in the Southeast.
Logan received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Geography, with a concentration in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). She also has some background in sustainable agriculture. Logan grew up in Chapel Hill, North Carolina and has lived in the South for most of her life.
