Lalanath DeSilva is Director of The Access Initiative and the Partnership for Principle 10.
Since joining WRI in June 2005, Lalanath has been focusing on helping over 150 civil society groups in over 40 countries assess the status of access to information, public participation and access to justice in their countries. Through these assessments, TAI partners identify gaps in access laws, practices and institutions and undertake activities that will change the situation on the ground.
Lalanath also heads the Secretariat of the PP10, based at WRI. The Partnership now counts 8 Governments and 4 International Organizations and numerous NGOs, among its members. PP10 is dedicated to the accelerated implementation of Principle 10 of the Rio declaration.
