About Jiayi
Jiayi is the Special Assistant to China Country Director, based in Beijing. She assists the China Country Director on a wide range of research coordination and administrative tasks in order to accomplish goals and missions of WRI China.
Before coming to WRI China, Jiayi worked for the Institute for Environment and Development (IED) on climate change projects including adaptation policy research, tracking climate negotiations, and coordinating discussions among Chinese NGOs. She also coordinated the first Sustainable Development Review Report for China with perspectives from Chinese civil society. In 2012, Jiayi was selected for an SEE Fellowship, which aims to support Chinese NGO professionals working on climate change issues.
Jiayi possesses a B.Sc in Economics from the University of Bristol in the United Kingdom. Also, she holds a masters degree in Regional Development from the University of Queensland in Australia.
