About Jesse Ribot
Jesse C. Ribot is a Senior Associate in the Institutions and Governance Program of the World Resources Institute. He currently directs the Decentralization and Environment Initiative of IGP's Environmental Accountability in Africa Program. Dr. Ribot was a research associate at the Harvard Center for Population and Development Studies, a fellow at the Yale Program in Agrarian Studies, and a lecturer in Urban Studies and Planning at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has conducted research on issues of environmental justice, environment and decentralization, social vulnerability in the face of environmental change, access to natural resources and the effects of resource markets on local livelihoods.
