Jean Sylvestre Makak is currently the assistant principal advisor for WRI’s activities in Gabon. Mr. Makak served as the Principal Consultant for WRI in Gabon from February 2007 to 2012 where he coordinated the production and publication of the interactive forest atlas of Gabon, whose pilot version was made public on May 13, 2009. Between 2000 and 2005, Jean Sylvestre was responsible for projects with Cameroon Environmental Watch (CEW) in the areas of spatial information management and forestry, monitoring of development projects to identify opportunities / alternatives for natural resource management, and evaluation of impacts on sanitation and restoration of the environment. He also participated in the production and publication of WRI’s first interactive forest atlas of Cameroon.
