About Emily

Emily is an Editor/Writer in WRI’s Office for Science and Research, where she supports WRI staff in producing well-written, targeted publications. In addition to substantive editing, Emily advises on effective writing and publication planning.

Prior to joining WRI, Emily was a writer/editor consultant to a range of international and nongovernmental organizations, including the United Nations Development Programme, the Global Environment Facility, and the World Bank. Previously, she worked as an attorney in private and government practice, where she honed her persuasive and analytic writing skills. In the early 1990s, Emily served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Lesotho.

Emily holds a B.A. in Philosophy from McGill University in Montreal; an M.A. in Rural Development from the University of East Anglia in Norwich, England; and a J.D. from Indiana University School of Law. Emily lives with her family in Takoma Park, MD.
