About Daniel
Daniel Melling is the media assistant/intern for External Relations, where he uses the latest communications tools to ensure WRI’s programs reach policy leaders, media figures and the public. From his DC cubicle, Daniel tracks WRI’s global media impact and maintains WRI’s relationships with journalists around the world. Daniel takes on a variety of writing and editing assignments both online and in print to publicize WRI’s programs.

Prior to WRI, Daniel staffed the 2012 Obama campaign in Colorado and studied the Nixon Tapes for a law professor’s forthcoming book on labor leader Jimmy Hoffa. Daniel has also worked as a wilderness guide in California, leading trips for students to the High Sierras, Big Sur, and Mojave Desert among other adventures.
Daniel holds a B.A. in history from the University of California, Los Angeles.
