About Christian Layke

Christian directs EarthTrends: The Environmental Information Portal (http://earthtrends.wri.org) and the World Resources report data tables. EarthTrends and World Resources provide environmental and sustainable development information to policy-makers, civil society, corporations, researchers, and educators. Christian joined WRI in 1998.

Other WRI products Christian has worked on include: Tomorrow's Markets: Global Trends and their Implications for Business, The Weight of Nations: Material Outflows from Industrial Economies, and Monitoring for Impact: Lessons on Natural Resources Monitoring from 13 NGOs.

Christian holds a master's degree in geography from The George Washington University and a bachelor's degree in natural resources from Cornell University.

Previous to coming to WRI, Christian conducted forest ecology research in New York State, New Hampshire, and the Dominican Republic, and helped run an organic farm in Vermont.
