Urban Mobility and Climate Specialist, WRI Brasil Sustainable Cities

Bio

Berta Pinheiro is an Urban Mobility and Climate Specialist. She works to stimulate sustainable mobility in Brazilian cities, promoting, for example, the use of clean vehicles.

Prior to joining WRI team, Berta worked on the Green Fund for Energy of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. There, she helped create and monitor sustainable indicators in the areas of water, energy and mobility for the university campus. Berta has also worked on the Rio de Janeiro Environment Secretary where she has done research in the areas of green economy and climate change mitigation.

Berta is a geographer and holds a master degree in transport engineering from Rio de Janeiro Federal University. Berta’s biggest passion is traveling to national parks. In her free time, she enjoys cycling and reading.
