About Arnab

Arnab is an Associate – Urban Transport at EMBARQ India. He provides technical and program management support for city bus operations and bus rapid transit (BRT) projects. He is based in Indore where his primary focus is working with the Atal Indore City Transport Services Ltd. (AICTSL) to assist with the operations and performance monitoring of the Indore City Bus service, and providing day-to-day technical and management advice to the execution of the ongoing BRT pilot project in Indore.

He has several years of experience working in the field of transport planning, policy and management. Prior to joining EMBARQ he worked with ULTra Fairwood, which is involved in introducing a new transit technology – Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) in India and other parts of South East Asia. Arnab’s key role in ULTra Fairwood was management and technical lead for PRT proposals, and business development. In the past, he has also worked with WS Atkins, where he was involved in program management for transport projects in the Thames Gateway London Partnership region in London. He has also been involved in policy research & advice projects such as Local Implementation Plan Guidance in UK, and sustainable transport strategy development projects such as the Gatwick Diamond DaSTS (Developing a Sustainable Transport Strategy) project of the UK Department for Transport.

Arnab has been formally trained as planner with specialization in transport planning. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Planning from School of Planning and Architecture (New Delhi), a Master’s degree in Transport Planning and Environment from Institute of Transport Studies, University of Leeds, and a Diploma in Transport Economics and Management from Institute of Rail Transport (New Delhi).
