Launched in May 2013, WRI’s Global Advisory Council is a select group of business, philanthropic, and civic leaders committed to helping the Institute achieve its mission of moving human society to live in ways that protect Earth’s environment and its capacity to provide for the needs and aspirations of current and future generations.
By serving as ambassadors and advising the Institute’s leadership, board of directors, and international staff, Council members enhance WRI’s profile, resources, and effectiveness.
In formation, the Global Advisory Council is chaired by Theodore Roosevelt IV, a former member of WRI’s Board of Directors and a Managing Director for Barclay’s Capital in New York.
