WHAT:
The World Resources Institute (WRI) and the Georgetown State-Federal Climate Resource Center (GCC) will hold a tele-conference on their new analysis of the allowances to states and energy consumers under the “Waxman-Markey” American Clean Energy and Security Act, or H.R. 2454.
To join the tele-conference, reporters should call the phone number listed below. They may also watch a slideshow of charts, which will be explained by the speakers during the call, by going to the Web site listed below.
The charts detail state-by-state allowance allocations to assist energy-consuming households, small businesses, industries, and other interests under the cap-and-trade program introduced in the bill, as well as allocations directly to states for clean energy and other programs.
WHEN:
Wednesday, July 29, 2009; 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
(The charts will be on WRI and GCC’s Web sites after 5 p.m. today.)
