There are seventeen countries, three states and three NGO's participating in Initiative 20x20, committing a total of about 53.2 million hectares to place into restoration by 2020.

  • Brazil: 22 million hectares through the Ministry of Agriculture
  • Mexico: 8.5 million hectares between the Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry of Environment
  • Peru: 3.2 million hectares through the Ministry of Agriculture
  • Nicaragua: 2.8 million hectares
  • Uruguay: 2.5 million hectares between the Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry of Environment
  • Guatemala: 1.2 million hectare contribution from the 2014 UN Climate Summit
  • Argentina: 1 million hectares
  • Colombia: 1 million hectares through the Ministry of Agriculture
  • Costa Rica: 1 million hectares through the Ministry of Environment
  • El Salvador: 1 million hectare through the Ministry of the Environment and Natural Resources
  • Honduras: 1 million hectares from the Ministry of Environment
  • Panama: 1 million hectares through the “Alianza por el Millon” program
  • Chile: 0.5 million hectares
  • Ecuador: 0.5 million hectares through the Ministry of Environment
  • Dominican Republic: 0.089 through the Ministry of Environment
  • Belize: A hectare ambition is being defined as a commitment
  • Paraguay: A hectare ambition is being defined as a commitment
  • State of Mato Grosso (Brazil): 2.9 million hectares
  • State of São Paulo (Brazil): 300,000 (.3m) hectares
  • State of Espírito Santo (Brazil): 80,000 (0.08m) hectares
  • Bosques Modelo: 1.6 million hectares
  • Conservacion Patagonica: 1 million hectares
  • American Bird Conservancy: 100,000 (0.1m) hectares
